Healey’s House

By Rob Savage | Horror
A man kills a robber breaking into his house. Now, the robber's daughter wants revenge.

Director Rob Savage and producer Douglas Cox tell the story of Lily, young woman who goes back to her hometown to avenge the man who killed her dad during a failed robbery attempt.

Lily buys a pregnancy test at a gas station. She tells the clerk she grew up around here and asks to use the bathroom. As her boyfriend Alex to come inside to pay, she begs the clerk to hide the pregnancy kit from him.

Lily sits in the bathroom — she’s pregnant — and tosses the test on the ground in disgust.

The clerk knocks on the door. Lily seemed a bit freaked out and had a nasty bruise on her shoulder. The clerk asks if her boyfriend did it. Lily answers that she’s fine.

The clerk offers to call the police — Lily just has to knock. She wants to do it, but can’t.

Later, Lily and Alex scream in the woods. Nobody can hear them. Alex tapes an “X” on a tree and Lily practices her aim with the rifle.

Back at the car, Alex gets down on one knee to propose. But Lily wants none of it and slaps him.

Alex wakes up in the car and tells Lily he’s going inside. He’s still upset and they get into a fight. They sit silent in the room, full is full of balloons and a bottle of champagne — decorated for the engagement night.

The next day, Alex and Lily drive to a home. He recites his lines in the car and ring the doorbell. Abi answers and they say they’re reporters doing a piece on local heroes. They ask if her dad Healey is there, but Abi says he just left.

Alex says they’d love to talk to her, as well. She lets them in the house.

As Alex talks to Abi, Lily sees the the spot on the wall — a divot from a patched-up bullet hole. She marks an “X” over it with the tape.

She goes to the bathroom and begins to feel sick from the pregnancy.

Alex asks Abi about the night her dad shot the burglar. She said she didn’t really know much — the man was a loner. Lily yells that the man had a family, but nobody hears.

Alex and Abi go outside for a smoke. Lily begins to feel nauseous and braces herself — in her hand is the newspaper article about her dad begin killed at the Healey estate and Abi’s dad being acquitted of the killing.

Outdoors, Alex takes a photo of Abi and then kisses her.

Her dad comes home to see the furniture covered in plastic. Lily comes up behind him and shoots him in front of the mark — the same place he’d killed her dad.

Abi hears the gunshot tries to go back. But Alex grabs her and holds her down.

Lily calmly sets down the rifle and sits. She looks at his dead body, savoring her revenge.

The next morning, Alex and Lily stop back at the gas station. Lily sits in the bathroom for a moment to reflect on the events. As she leaves the key with the clerk, she knocks on the counter, letting the clerk know to call the police.

Then, Lily asks Alex if he still wants to marry her. He does and proposes again. She said yes and he slips the ring on her. As they kiss, Lily stares blankly ahead, waiting for the police to arrive.
