Eric and Peety by Mutual Rescue

A man on the verge of death rescued a dog with no hope. Then, the dog rescues him.

Eric O’Grey knew he was in trouble. His weight had ballooned to 320 pounds, and he was spending more than $1,000 a month on medications for high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol.

A physician told him to buy a funeral plot, because he would need it within five years. He was 51-years-old.

When a nutritionist suggested he adopt a shelter dog, he told the shelter, “I want an obese middle-aged dog, like me.” That’s how he met Peety.

Eric needed to walk Peety, for at least a half-hour each day. Gradually, he changed his diet, exercised regularly, and lost over 140 pounds. Peety lost 25, as well.

Listen to Eric tell this heartwarming story about his best friend.
